INTO THE STORM

MINDSET

Buffalo have been observed to handle storms differently than any other creature. They instinctively turn towards the storm, charging into and through it, knowing that even if uncomfortable or downright painful at first, they’ll reach better weather faster by facing it head on.

Contrast this with how cows react to a storm, standing in place, hiding, or moving in the opposite direction. If you’ve driven east on the freeway during a storm, you can probably relate to what cows experience, it’s as if the storm is chasing you, prolonging your time in pain.

In our experience, those who avoid their challenges never really break through to new levels of performance or results, while those who charge through their proverbial storms often achieve better outcomes faster.

That’s why the buffalo is our mascot. Into The Storm is a metaphor for courageous leadership, something we believe to be at the center of the healthiest cultures. It is a mindset, something powerful that we are determined to share with as many people as possible.

An Anti-Consultant Approach and a Pretty Big Promise

We never want clients to feel locked in to something if their needs change and are committed to operating how we’d want an outside party to partner with us. No contracts or retainers, a session-day pricing model, cancel anytime.

Client invoices aren't due until the end of a scheduled session-day. If you don’t see value, don’t pay us a dime and don’t move forward. It’s that simple.

Coordination & Scheduling

Coordination & Planning

Amy makes the magic happen. Balancing a group of Iniating Quick Starts with her eye for detail and heart for creating incredible experiences both internally and externally. From scheduling sessions and planning events to coordinating team building experiences and development programs, she brings unique value to the CultureShoc team,

One Simple Focus

Regardless of service or industry, our approach to mastery of engagement is the same. We get to know the companies and the work cultures of our clients. Whether it's a one-time event or an ongoing relationship, everything we do is to systematically and purposefully help our clients create winning cultures. And every interaction is with intent to align teams on a deeper level to drive performance.

OUR CORE VALUES

Not just something on a break room wall.

Like the healthy organizations we work with and guide, we keep ourselves accountable and aligned by leveraging these four values as a filter for all decision-making.

Be A Buffalo.

You probably get it by now. Whether with team members or with clients, regardless of the initial discomfort or pain, this belief persists. By addressing issues and opportunities head-on, we'll reach a better outcome, faster.

Uncommon Leadership.

Lead authentically, without ego, from wherever you are. We embrace the fact that there's no single mold for a peak leader, advertising our principles through our actions and showing up as ourselves in every interaction creates space for others to do the same.

Relentless Growth.

When something is uncomfortable it means you're moving in the right direction. We recognize that a learner mindset is one of the strongest attributes to maintain, exhibiting a blend of confidence with humility by constantly seeking out wisdom from others and challenging ourselves to see things from other angles. Never complacent, always moving forward.

Own Success.

Courageous leaders default to ownership in all situations. From owning your own experience in life and work to people issues and company results, we recognize our part to play first. Far more likely to be pulled back than pushed forward, we're intentional, reflective, and proactive in taking initiative.
